Phoenix Settlement – Recognition as National Heritage Site
October 2nd 2020 marks the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In 2019 we reflected on the significance of Gandhiji’s ideas at an International conference. This year Covid-19 pandemic has made it difficult to organise a conference but we are able to gather a diverse audience and a panel with prominent speakers. Significantly on this 151st birth anniversary we celebrate the declaration of Gandhiji’s first ashram the Phoenix Settlement, as a National Heritage Site, by the South Africa Heritage Resources Agency(SAHARA).
